Words & Paint is a series I began when my mother, Carla Chlouber, unexpectedly passed away in 2011 and we discovered her unpublished poetry and writings along with her father, Arthur Carlos Sweets unpublished poetry. Not wanting their work to be lost through script, thread, and paint, I re-wove the past to demonstrate the unseen persistence of the past in the present. This body of work has deeply influenced my current work in that I realized as a society the legacy we leave collectively will have exponential influence on those to come in the future.
